Zeemanshuus

"The Zeemanshuus", the former holiday home of the Zeeman family is hidden in the Dennen forest. They were great nature lovers and bought it in 1947. The elder daughter Lijane, or aunt Li, has been running a holiday resort for children in nearby Zeemansduin for years. The characteristic home merges with nature in all its purity and simplicity.

Everywhere on Texel, but certainly in the area around the house, wild orchids can be found in all shades of colour. You can enjoy endless walks through Vogelweid de Bol and take a break along the way on Aunt Li's bench. Due to the transition from wet to dry, an enormous flower meadow has been created in this area that attracts a wide range of insects and therefore also many bird species. Next to this area is the Wadden Sea, the road restaurant for birds of the world. To ensure peace and quiet, you can only navigate around here under the guidance of the forester. One of the many options is the Schorren excursion. The Schorren is the odd one out on the bird boulevard. A large salt marsh area that extends far into the Wadden Sea. There is a colony of spoonbills and a permanent home for migratory birds.

Zeemanshuus is a single-storey house, where the living room is connected to the open kitchen with all modern conveniences, such as a microwave, oven and a dishwasher. This unique holiday home has a bathroom with a walk-in shower, bathtub and a separate toilet. There are two bedrooms: 1 room with a double bed and 1 room with single beds. There is a large storage room. From the living room, the garden doors invite you to go outside to a lovely terrace with a huge garden that flows into nature.

The Zeemanshuus is still without Wi-Fi. An internet connection will probably be available from summer 2019 onwards. Undisturbed enjoyment is ensured here!
