Description

Forestry guard Leenderbos (Brabant) is the area for which the forest guard who used to live in the forest guard home Vetersbos, was responsible. This area, near the Belgian border, consists mainly of pine trees, heathlands, curved canals and old connection roads and is a paradise for bird watchers.

 

It is cut through by winding streams that end in fairy-tale fens. Leenderbos is part of the famous Kempen Landscape what runs into Belgium. Many walking, riding and cycling routes have been set out and the area is car free.

 

The coarse pine trees and Douglas firs who were originally planted for wood harvesting during a project for unemployed people, are gradually replaced by hardwood. Due to this variation and the fens and the drifting-sand overgrown with mosses and grasses many birds use this for breeding. Here you can find the buzzard, honey buzzard, nightjar, grey shrike and wader.

 

Holiday home Vetersberg is located at the edge of forestry guard Leenderbos, at the crossing of the paved road and a sand path. In the completely renovated home with modern furniture, the open kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave) is next to spacious combined dining and living room. The bathroom is equipped with a bath tub. Upstairs there are two bedrooms and outside there is a large terrace.
