Description

The former caretaker home De Twee Lindes owes its name to forest guard Herman Linde, who lived here for more than 30 years. Together with his wife he had a son and a daughter. And the best way for the employees of the forestry guard to welcome the additions to the Linde family was to plant a linden tree for each child next to the characteristic white home near Ugchelen in forestry guard Kootwijk.

The forestry guard Ugchelen originates from the old ground forests of Ugchelen and Beekbergen and it is famous as it served as the State Wildlife reserve for a long time. From this area the red deer stand was rebuilt again on the Veluwe after the Second World War and there are still a lot of wild animals in the area. Also many ravens that now breed in the Netherlands were reintroduced from here.

De Twee Lindes has a beautiful location! You can hear the trees murmur and the numerous singing birds make the most noise early in the morning. You can spot dear and wild boars in the beautiful forests with wide lanes of beech trees from the strategically placed wild observation post near De Twee Lindes. You can also take a walk or go for a bike or horse ride through the beautiful forests, heathlands and vast agricultural areas. Attractions like the Kröller museum and animal park de Apenheul are nearby.

De Twee Lindes has a comfortable living room, open kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher) with large French doors, a bath room with shower, bath tub and toilet, downstairs there is one bedroom and upstairs there are two bedrooms. Outside a Dutch tub is waiting for you: an original wood fired bath tub with a natural heat circulation system incorporated in the walls. Can be used all year through!
