The variation in the landscapes, the authentic towns and villages and the quirky atmosphere make Friesland special. Holiday home ‘t Blauwe Bos is situated in the south-east corner of “Fryslan” on the edge of a quiet forest and heathland area. From the home you can directly walk into the forest.
Duurswouderheide is only a bike ride away. This is the largest heathland of the province with authentic oak walls, fens and peat bogs. Nature resort the Fochteloërveen is also ‘around the corner’. This unique landscape, on the border of Friesland and Drenthe, is one of the best-kept highland peat areas of the Netherlands. Special mosses but also endangered plants such as bell gentian and dwarf foliage can be found here. Plus, you can encounter the European crane bird, a huge population of peat hay animals (butterfly species), the grass snake, the adder and the wood sandpiper here. Finally, the forest-rich area of the Drents-Friese Wold rond Appelscha is located nearby.
Holiday home ‘t Blauwe Bos is situated in this lovely area. The home has an intimate atmosphere and a modern interior that matches the style of the home. On the ground floor you can find the comfortable living room, a playing room, a double bedroom, bathroom with shower and a dining room/kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher). On the first floor there are two bedrooms and the bathroom (with bath tub). Outside you can relax on the comfortable terrace with adjacent garden and there is also a chopping shed.
Want to take a bath outside? This is possible in the Dutch tub: an original wood fired bath tub with a natural heat circulation system incorporated in the walls. Can be used all year through! Or would you prefer a swim? At about 7 kilometres (10 minutes in the car) you find the Ronostand. Address: Amerika 1.
