Specht

At the north-west of the Drenthe Emmer lies forestry guard Sleenerzand. Sleenerzand consists of quiet forests that are the domain of dozens of bird species. But there is also an old drift-sand area, with a bunch of barley-shaped juniper berries. All this alternated by an idyllic fen or heathland. 

Looking around in the area is definitely worth your while. The authentic ash villages Odoorn and Zweeloo are within cycling or walking distance. Museum village Orvelte is definitely worth a visit. One of the most beautiful zoos in the Netherlands, the Noorderdierenpark in Emmer, is also nearby. This also applies for the open-air museum, Ellert en Brammert, in Schoonoord. If you want to cool down you can walk to the swimming pond Kibbelkoele. Peace, space and nature at its best.

In this beautiful area stands the Buitenleven home De Specht. The home has an intimate atmosphere and a modern interior that matches the style of the home. In De Specht everything is at ground level.
