Description

Oud Vels is one of the most authentic homes in our offer. However, you must look for it! As it is hidden, like a well-kept secret, in the beautiful forests of estate Schuilenburg near Hellendoorn.

 

Oud Veld and estate Schuilenburg are located in National Park De Sallandse Heuvelrug. This is a lovely area with originally pine tree production forests (pine tree, Douglas fir and larch) but also deciduous forest with birch, oak and beech trees, river dunes (created by the propulsion of water, wind and ice) and beautiful heathlands. De Sallandse Heuvelrug is markedly and surprising part of the landscape in Overijssel. Do you want a bit more action? Adventure park Hellendoorn is about 15 minutes away in the car.

 

In Oud Vels all old ambient elements remained intact, such as the original pebble floor in the front room, the authentic fire places with tiles and the entrances to the bedsteads. The low back facade of this farm with thatched roof is special due to the nice ‘lower shed’. Here the farmer used to drive his vehicle with hay inside. The facade is built traditionally with oak craftsmanship, braided with straw and covered with clay.

 

The lay-out of Oud Vels is both unique as authentic. The lovely dining room with original fire place. The kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher) with entrance to the living room with a beautiful view on the terrace through glass French doors. A bathroom (bath tub and shower) and three bedrooms (1 double/2 singles). There is no cot present in this home. The garden and the large terrace complement the holiday feeling.
