Description

Op de Duivelsberg? A strange name for a holiday home! The 75-metres high Duivelsheuvel determines the picture of this area, maybe this has got something to do with the name? This beautiful, white, authentic holiday home Op de Duivelsberg is situated on the thrust wall of Nijmegen in nature resort Duivelsberg between the villages Berg en Dal and Beek-Ubbergen. It is a diverse area with small fields, wells, a mountain stream, meadows and pine and deciduous forest. You will for example see many chestnuts here.

Due to, for Dutch terms, large differences in height and the variation in the area different living areas were created for special animals. For example, different woodpecker species, forest owls, nuthatches and bats. There are plants and flowers like orchids, reed and large beetle orchid, Rapunzel and rattle.

Nature resort the Duivelsberg is situated significantly higher than its surroundings due to the position on the thrust wall, this creates a lovely view across the Ooijpolder that is located further down. This is a unique area where deer, hares, rabbits, pheasants, a herd of Przewalski horses and numerous rare bird species have found their home.

The fortress Mergelpe (built between 1000 and 1300) lies near the Duivelsberg. Mergelpe has two mottes (castle mountains). These mottes consist of a large hill that originally had a defensive task and a smaller hill as lookout.

The rustic holiday home Op de Duivelsberg is located in a quiet area in the forest. You have a dining room/kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher) that is connected to the comfortable living room and a playing room. On the ground floor you find a shower and toilet and a double bedroom. On the first floor there are two bedrooms and a bathroom (with bath tub). The lovely garden and the comfortable garden furniture give you a complete holiday feeling.
