Kleinste Huisje

In the middle of Drenthe between Beilen and Hoogeveen, the stream the Oud Diep is finding its way through the meadows from the Drenthe platform. In this rustic area of the hamlet of Stuifzand the Kleinste Huisje van Drenthe is situated. This peat cutter home was the residence of “Olde Grietien” with her 5 children till a very high age.  Now the Kleinste Huisje is a lovely holiday home in the middle of free nature. Near unique nature resorts like the Boerenveense plassen, Oude Diep and the Nuilerveld from Stichting Het Drentse Landschap but also very close to the National Park Dwingelderveld.

The nature around the stream the Oude Diep is featured by winding water parties, marshy shores, flowering meadows and wooden banks. Along the stream you can find special nature resorts like Reigerveen, Mantingerzand and estate De Vossenberg, they look like pearls connected with each other. From one of the highest points of Drenthe, De Blinkers, you really have a lovely view across the area. Who wants to explore the area by foot can use the long-distance walk Loop van het Oude Diep or one of the many Knapzakroutes. The area also offers many routes for cyclists to beautiful situated villages like Lhee, Dwingeloo or Orvelte. The Drenthe museum in the nearby is definitely worth a visit. The town of Hoogeveen is only 4 kilometres away.

The Kleinste Huisje honours its name; it is a cosy home! But with peace and privacy despite it being located not far from the through road. The yard is fenced off and you have a bike shed. The open kitchen is complete with combi-microwave and fridge-freezer. The living room has a gas fire, floor heating, television and stereo installation. Via the living room you have access to the bedstead for 2 people (adjusted to current standards).
Via the steep stairs you can reach a vide with two single beds, due to limited headroom namely suitable for children. There is a lovely garden with bike shed.
