Kijk uit

This holiday home is the perfect place if you want to stay in the middle of the woods. It is a very special spot. After travelling a few kilometres through the woods, you will see "Kijk Uit" (meaning “Look Out”); in the middle of a clearing in the woods. From here you can see wild boar or roe deer passing by. Put on your hiking boots, put on your jodphurs or pump up your bicycle tyres, because you can wander through Leuvenum woods for hours on end. Discover the drifting sand area with high sand dunes, the dry heathland or the winding stream that flows through the woods.

The Leuvenum stream seems endless: it is the longest stream on the entire Veluwe. It is no less than seventeen kilometres long and runs straight through Leuvenum woods. All the way from Lake Uddeler to Lake Veluwe. The stream was restored a few years ago. Now it can go its natural course again. If you pay close attention while walking along the stream you might witness a blue flash: the kingfisher, one of the dozens of species of birds in the Leuvenum woods! You will have special encounters in the middle of the woods. Red deer graze in clearings and hide on the edge of the woods. Wild boar root around in the dirt, particularly in the evenings, searching for food. If you pay attention during a walk or bike ride, you may just spot some of the tracks they leave behind, because this rooting is often done along the paths.

Kijk Uit is suitable for 6 people. All rooms are on the ground floor. This ground floor flat has underfloor heating as well as a wood burning stove. It has a spacious kitchen with combi-oven, fridge and induction cooker. The cosy living room adjoins the kitchen. There are 2 bathrooms with a shower, one of which has a bathtub. The 3 double bedrooms have divan beds. The fireplace on the patio, allows you to sit outside all year round.
