Description

The Vecht winds its way through the valley. The river flows along picturesque villages, estates, forests and heathlands. The Vechtdal is a beautiful landscape where you find plenty of space, peace and nature.

 

The former forest guard home Eerderveld is situated on the estate in the Vechtdal, nearby the lovely Ommen, in a beautiful forest area. A lush garden, that belongs to such a home, surrounded by century-old trees makes the ‘picture’ of this holiday home with its idyllic location, complete. Eerderveld is situated, how else could it be, at a cross point of sand paths.

 

One did not have fridges in the past, therefore an ice cellar was built near the home at a depth of about 3.5 metres. In winter ice from the nearby river the Regge was collected and stored in this ice cellar. A unique historic monument!

 

Start the day with a walk through the lovely estate forest with heathlands, fens, drifting sand, rhododendron bushes, beautiful beech trees and of course a castle. You will not find any motorised vehicles here: as holiday home Eerderveld is located in a closed off part of forestry guard.

 

The floor of the holiday home is made from authentic pebbles which makes this home extra special. On the ground floor you find the dining room/open kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher) that is connected to the comfortable living room. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and a bathroom (with bath tub). You can relax in the garden and when the weather is bad you can use the covered terrace.
