Duin en Kruidberg

Hunting lodge Duin- & Kruidberg is located at a great spot in the dunes near Santpoort-Noord. From the house you can cycle or walk through the dunes to the beach. This is the ultimate nature experience as the house is surrounded by sounds of the nightingale, roe deer, fallow deer or grazers.

The Duin- en Kruidberg area is part of the National Park Zuid-Kennemerland. It is one of the largest dune areas in the Netherlands. Once this estate was the property of a merchant from Amsterdam. A lake, the Cremermeer, is located in the centre of the estate, it was named after the former owner. He had the current mansion built in 1907. This house is part of the estate and was originally the residence for the gamekeeper.

The house has a ‘hotel suite’ on the ground floor with a freestanding bath, double bed and walk-in bathroom with rain shower. The living room, with classic windows, offers a lovely view across the field and there is a seating area for 6 people. Here you can sit around the fireplace when it is slightly colder. On the ground floor there is also a spacious kitchen-diner with French windows and access to the utility room. The kitchen is equipped with sufficient worktops, a large fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher and induction hob. The utility room has a washing machine and you can store your sandy booths here after you have been to the beach. There is also a toilet on the ground floor. Upstairs there are two double bedrooms and an additional bathroom with walk-in rain shower and a separate toilet.

The house has central heating and television. There is no Wi-Fi. On the wonderfully secluded terrace you can spend the day lounging and enjoying the sun. Your bicycles can be stored in the adjacent barn. At the house – inside the gate – there are two parking places. Other cars can be parked at the Duin- en Kruidberg carpark.

Hunting lodge Duin- & Kruidberg is located next to De Bosuil barn.

From time to time, Natuurmonumenten organises activities here and on the large field in front of De Bosuil and the holiday home, such as a meeting, teambuilding session or occasionally a wedding. This will be a maximum of 2 days per week during the day and a maximum of once a week in the evening until sunset. Of course, these are activities that do not harm the experience of nature and when you are sitting in the back garden on the terrace of the holiday home you can enjoy your privacy.
