Batsboer

The surroundings of the authentic monumental Saxon farm De Batsboer is featured by heathlands, hills, meadows, lakes, waterfalls, beautiful forests with narrow winding forest streams and historic craft farms.

The Twente landscape is diverse, full of green with exciting views and sometimes a sloping character. This part of the Netherlands has got the nickname ‘the garden of the Netherlands’ and not without good reason. Beautiful places like the artist village Ootmarsum and the historic German castle town Bentheim are nearby.

Holiday home De Batsboer (Bats is the Twente word for shovel) is situated on the edge of estate Springendal. This estate belonged to the textile baron Jannink from Enschede who gave its property the appearance of an English estate. In this special area, that is closed off for motorised vehicles, you can hear the noise of owl species such as the forest owl, church owl, screech owl and the stone owl and in the morning you are woken by the knocking of the woodpeckers.

This holiday home De Batsboer is situated in this lovely area. The farm only has a ground floor, it has an intimate atmosphere with a modern interior that matches the style of the home. In the former part you find a combined sitting and dining room/kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher). In the former cattle stable there is a playing room and a dining room. De Batsboer has four bedrooms and a large garden with attractive seats.
