Atelier Roland Holst

Experience you holiday in the studio of the couple Roland Holst at the Oude Buisse Heide. The Oude Buisse Heide, together with Wallsteijn and De Moeren forms a lovely walking area near Zundert.

There are numerous lovely, marked walking routes along tea domes, manors, gardens and ponds. There is even a marked Gedichtenroute in the footsteps of Henriette Roland Holst.

Breda is only 30 minutes away by car, Antwerp is 45 minutes away and Vlissingen is 60 minutes away. You can easily combine nature with a day at the beach or town from de Oude Buisse Heide.

The home:
in 1918 Margaret Staal-Kopholler, the first female architect in the Netherlands, designed a studio for the visual artist and art critic Richard Roland Holst. The studio has an expressionist, organic appearance in the style of the Amsterdam School. The map resembles a kite with a small tail at the south and opens itself to the north.

In the Noordkamer you can enjoy a beautiful view from the large Noordraam. In this living room you find a lovely big dining table in trapezium shape, an impressive fire place with gas fire. The kitchen is small, modern and equipped with all comforts (combi-microwave, dishwasher). The studio has 1 bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom with shower. It is possible to also rent the Angorahoeve if you are with a larger group (6 people). This home is situated on the same estate.

You find Laagse Heide at about 15 kilometres away (20 minutes by car). Here you can take a lovely refreshing dip. Address: Laagse Heidstraat 10 in Zundert
