Description

Freely situated in the scenic landscape of the Achterhoek is the Tichelman farm, named after the profession of the original inhabitants of the farm: in the past, tichelman meant tile or brick maker in Dutch. The farmhouse dates back to 1869 and is part of the Hackfort Estate. It is an oasis of peace and privacy, making it a wonderful place to holiday. Surrounding Tichelman are meadows, which offer you a likely chance of spotting deer. Unique to the estate are the thousands of spring blooming plants heralding early spring.

Flowers, insects, birds, interspersed with authentic farmhouses and fields with flowery meadows, characterise the Hackfort estate. Here, nature and culture go hand in hand, as this estate has several large and small cultural-historical elements. The heart of the Hackfort estate – a castle with water mill, coach house and historic vegetable garden surrounded by a unique park forest, brings to mind centuries of noble influence.

The cultural landscape with its alternation of avenues, woods, fields and meadows, is similarly centuries old. Discover the stories behind all these very special places through a walking tour. Castle Hackfort is within walking distance of Tichelman, and is the starting point for several routes passing by the most beautiful spots of the Achterhoek landscape. Curious about the history of the castle and other beauty on the estate? Then book an excursion with the forest ranger.

The six-person holiday home features a cosy living room with a wood-burning stove. The kitchen is equipped with oven and dishwasher. On the first floor there are 2 toilets, one of which is wheelchair accessible. The first floor bedroom has an indoor bath and shower facility, separate sink and a double bed. The shower and sink are wheelchair accessible. In addition, the shower room has a bench and floor heating. On the second floor there are 2 bedrooms with 2 single beds and a toilet. Both upstairs bedrooms have their own shower and laundry facilities. Bicycles can be stored in the outside storage room.

Tichelman occupied or are you exploring Landgoed Hackfort with a larger group? Then have a look at the suites of Hackfort Castle, which are located on the same estate.

A SHORT BREAK

Maybe your ‘main’ holiday has already passed. Or do you have something to look forward to later on in the year.

How great would it be if you could already experience this holiday feeling for a few days? In July and August this is now also possible at Buitenleven Vakanties for just a weekend or midweek, just like the rest of the year. So have a look and book quickly.
