't Loor

The characteristic holiday home ‘t Loor is hidden, as a cherished secret, on estate Slangenburg near Zelhem in the Achterhoek. In the past, this former farm partly ensured that estate Slangenburg was almost self-sufficient for the residents.

From the home you can walk to the seventeenth century castle with the same name. On both sides of the 1-kilometre long drive you find two square ponds that mirror each other. The drive comes via the Rondeel, a circular place where four lanes come together, from a lane system in the shape of a double trapezium. Here you find lovely trees, such as tree enormous red beech trees that are estimated to be 300 hundred years old and also many other beech and oak trees. Special butterfly species also live here.

Nostalgic fruit trees grow in the orchard such as the morel and the breeding pear that are planted in the original square garden areas. The historic canals ponds and decorative garden of castle Slangenburg have also been kept.

‘t Loor is an authentic holiday home with modern furniture with a combined living room and open kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher), a separate toilet and a bathroom with bath tub. In total there are four bedrooms, a lovely garden with spacious terrace and even a chopping shed where you can park your car.
