School-Hoeve

The school master used to live here. About one hundred metres further down you can find the Boskapel, the former school. This former school master home and school are situated on a quiet country road on the historic estate at the Vordense stream in Ruurlo (the Achterhoek).

Here you can walk or cycle through the typical Achterhoek landscape. Fields, hawthorn bushes and oak sprouts that blend into old ash trees, the so-called round fields. These fields look English. They are higher than the paths as the farmers have sprouted sheep manure and heather sods here for years. They are commonly referred to as camps. These fields were mainly laid out on small hills that are called sand cover headers. Therefore, the boundaries of the plot sometimes run capricious and not perfectly straight. So, you can witness a “playful” landscape with forests, wooden walls, fields and flowery meadows with some beautiful castles.

Holiday home the School-Hoeve has a lovely location in this special landscape. In the renovated home with modern and tasteful furniture the kitchen is equipped with all comforts (dishwasher, oven, microwave). The spacious combined living and dining room has a playing corner for the children and the bathroom (with bath tub) is in the ‘upper room’. In addition, there are two bedrooms and a spacious sleeping attic. Outside you can use a carport and a lovely situated terrace.
