Koetshuis Verwolde

This special holiday home is situated on estate Verwolde. A stately manor is surrounded by a garden with special trees. On the edge of the estate is the Koetshuis, where a comfortable holiday home is created for 6 people.

The origin of the estate dates from 1776. It was a collaboration between the owner Frederik Willen van der Borch and architect Philip Schonck. The latter also worked for governor Willen V. The Koetshuis was built later, in 1890.
Over the years the estate garden was continuously adjusted to the latest trends. From a tight formal style around the construction period, but a landscaped garden in 1795 to the current design of Hugo Poortman from 1926.

The manor is still used for different purposes. The orangery is a wedding location and an attractive ambiance for parties and meetings. Now and again events are organised, such as music and art exhibitions. Plus, it is possible to visit the estate from April up to October.

The Koetshuis has a ground floor with living room with wood fire, French terrace doors and a large dining kitchen with doors that provide access to the garden.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms (one with a double bed, and two with two single beds). Each bedroom has its own sanitary facilities. One bedroom has a bath tub and there is a sauna on the landing with a separate rain shower. Around the home there is a large garden with terrace and garden furniture, adjacent to and looking across the estate garden.
