Description

The former cheese farm Helenahoeve is located in Peel in Deurne, a beautiful nature resort on the border of Noord-Brabant and Limburg. This special home was built in 1910 for a peat boss of peat company Van der Griendt.

 

The Peel in Deurne is part of National Park De Groote Peelen. This fantastic area is formed by peatlands where they used to cut peat. This way more beautiful nature resorts were created in the Netherlands at the beginning of the previous century.

 

The narrow water ways that are laid in the shape of a trident make Peel in Deurne special. These are the so-called ‘districts’ that are linked to the Channel of Deurne. They were used to efficiently transport the peat.

 

National Park De Groote Peelen is now a beautiful nature resort where you can go for lovely walks or bike rides. The Peel in Deurne has many bird species such as the curlew, water rail, grasshopper warbler, pochard, shovel duck and teal. The Taigarite goose hibernates here and the crane uses it as a stopover in the migration time.

 

Holiday home Helenahoeve has a lovely location at the water. The dining room/kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher), the comfortable living room, the two bedrooms, the bathroom (with bath tub), the lovely garden and the terrace with a fantastic view across the nature resort in the background will give you a relaxed holiday feeling.
