Description

At night you can hear the peaceful singing of nightjars in the area of De Blauwe Reiger, an authentic holiday home in the middle of the Schoorlse dunes. Here you find the widest dunes in the Netherlands. At some places they are five kilometres wide! The highest dune of our country is also located here, the Klimduim van Schoorl is 51 metres high!

 

Forest workers used to live in De Blauwe Reiger and it is named after the heron colony that used to be behind it. The home is next to lovely heathlands that in August have a purple bloom.

 

The battle between drifting sand and sea water has created a fascinating landscape in the area of De Blauwe Reiger, with many special plants and animals. Within no time you can cycle to places like Bergen aan Zee, Schoorl and Alkmaar. As the bike is the ideal way of transport in this car-free dune area (visitors of Buitenleven Vakanties are given an exemption).

 

The home has a pleasant atmosphere and a modern interior that matches the style of the home. The combines sitting and dining room/kitchen (oven, microwave and dishwasher) is situated on the ground floor as well as the bathroom (with bath tub). On the first floor there are two bedrooms. Outside you can sit on the comfortable terrace with adjacent garden.
