The Coendersborg is located in the Groningen village of Nuis. There was a villa on this spot as early as the seventeenth century. However, the old villa had fallen into disrepair and was replaced by the current country house in 1813. The Coendersborg is part of a historic country estate with a total area of 85 hectares. The house was built in a neo-classical style. Characteristic of this is the low ground floor, once intended for the staff of the villa, and the high upper floor. The holiday home is situated in the upper part. In 2016, the villa was fully restored. A museum and period rooms have been set up in the old stable and on the ground floor, telling the story of the estate. These include the former occupant, workers, local residents and the current nature manager.

In the immediate surroundings, the deer, kingfisher and tawny owl, among others, thrive. During your visit, you have a good chance of spotting one of these animals. Het Groninger Landschap regularly organises excursions on the estate grounds and in the villa itself. For those who want to explore the estate on their own, there is a marked walk of 6 kilometres that starts at the villa car park and the car park at Jonkersvaart. Alternatively, take a walk from Coendersborg to the Iwema Steenhuis. Walk past the car park to the right, where the concrete path bends left you pick up 't Path to the Steenhuis.

The holiday home is situated on the first and second floors. A steep staircase leads to the first floor to enter the house. Here you will find a living room, dining room and separate kitchen equipped with all comforts. Also located here are 1 double bedroom and the bathroom. On the second floor is a spacious landing with another double bedroom. The terrace is located to the side and has 2 lovely lounge sofas. Should there be visitors in the stable area, the terrace offers plenty of privacy. Coendersborg does not have Wi-Fi. There are 2 bikes at the house that you can use during your stay. This place is ideal for visitors with good mobility, given the steps and steep stairs. Within walking distance of the castle - across the street from the church, is a charging station for cars for general use. - across the street from the church, is a charging station for cars for general use.
